Colossians 3 commands us to live our position in Christ. We are in Christ because we identify with his death and resurrection, secondly, Jesus is LORD of my life. Our old way of life must die, we must experience the death of our sinful desires at our own hand. We are commanded to put our old nature to death. The things we must starve to death are preludes to the healing we all desire.
"Mortify your members" (flesh) at it starts with sexual immorality.
All the calamity of my life is from this one thing. Sexual idolatry.
Prayer "Lord forgive my sexual idolatry and give me a clean heart, Amen"
Putting of the things of the past: Prayer, "Lord for cleanse my heart of my past sins and ways, amen"
Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
Lord give me a new way to walk, amen
Set your heart on Christ... Before we set our mind and thoughts, we must set our hearts, align it to Christ, our heart is where life comes from, the mind is secondary. Our belief is from the heart, our love. We can only be obedient in mind when the heart is pure.
